At FreightWorks our core commitments to safety and innovation are always about drivers’ needs first and foremost.Recently we had an on-site demonstration of the incredibly innovative MirrorEye Camera Monitor System by Stoneridge. MirrorEye is a new solution designed to fully replace traditional mirrors on Class 8 trucks with a combination of wide angle cameras mounted outside the cab, and mirror-shaped screens mounted on the A-pillar inside the truck.
FreightWorks Founder & President Josh Farmer along with key members of our team were given test rides and briefings to demonstrate practical enhancements to driver comfort, vastly improved visual awareness, and elimination of blind spots. Most importantly, several of our drivers who happened to be at the yard that day were given the opportunity to test drive the truck and evaluate the system. We witnessed several of our own drivers transform from skeptic to advocate in the course of just a 5 minute test drive!
FreightWorks will continue to explore and evaluate new technologies with an eye towards driver safety, driver comfort, and driver efficiency.
