Family, Friends, and Fellowship At 2022 FreightWorks Annual BBQ

Sep 20, 2022

At FreightWorks, every driver and their family along with our staff and logistics teams are part of a family we take very seriously.

One way of expressing our care, concern, and love is to host our much anticipated annual BBQ at the Rutherfordton, North Carolina terminal where, on Saturday, September 17th we saw about 285 people share a beautiful day, incredible food, meaningful conversations, games, tours and more while walking by a line of distinctively new Peterbilt 579 Ultraloft trucks.

Founder and president Josh Farmer shared updates on the exciting fleet upgrade, satisfied and dedicated customers, a growing pool of new drivers, and exciting plans for developing properties at the intersection of what will be an interstate at highways 74 & 221.

He also announced plans for a new Loves truck stop and a much-needed state-of-the-art FreightWorks terminal plus hospitality, restaurants, and hotels. Research continues on exciting possibilities in Rutherford County, a significant North Carolina growth corridor.

Key county governmental leadership attended including the heads of the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Authority, county commission, and mayor. It was a distinctive crowd on every level!

While the authentic smoked beef barbecue was a crowd favorite along with hush puppies, salads, green beans, mashed potatoes, squash, rolls, grilled hot dogs, chicken, and other homemade delights…the twenty-foot table of deserts was simply…beyond!

Each of the guests shared a few hours of authentic friendship, fellowship, and faith in a way so reflective of what has made America great. From our newest drivers coming each week to ones like Bob Van Camp who started as driver #1 and our first company “Million Mile Award” recipient FreightWorks never undervalues the blessing of what God continues to build here and across America each day. The days ahead are so exciting, Come be a part!
